< Each summer, the annual ESPY Awards take place in LA to honor the coolest & best star athletes and memorable moments from the past year.
This is The Zinman Co’s forth year participating in this LIVE telecast since 2008. Working with screens producer Rob Wagner and Lighting Designer Bob Barnhart, we created and programmed over 2000 Versa-Tubes that internally light the set at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

< The Hollywood Wax Museum, located on famous Hollywood Boulevard along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is the longest running wax museum in the United States, with more than 45 years of continuous operation by the same owners since 1965.
Recently the HWM was renovated with new sets and celebrity wax figures. The Zinman Co designed all the lighting; including the new lobby and interior. With over 4000 lighting fixtures to inhance the visual sets and themes, the new HWM offers an immersive experience; bringing the visitor into the movies.

< As the first event to honor independent film exclusively, the Film Independent Spirit Awards has made a name for itself as the premier awards event for the independent film community. It’s a celebration of the spirited pioneers who bring a unique vision to filmmaking.
Keeping with its roots and L.A. location, the Spirit Awards takes place each year inside a beachfront tent in Santa Monica. Currently in its 26th year, the show is as original as the films and filmmakers it honors.

< The concerts, celebrating the history and grandeur of this prestigious “temple of music,” featured performances and appearances by Christoph Eschenbach, Sting, Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Paul Simon, Renee Fleming, Blue Man Group and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Hosts have included Tom Brokaw, Blythe Danner and Chris Matthews.
The programs reflect the wide array of genres—opera, orchestral music, Broadway musicals, pop—that have found a home at the Academy, a National Historic Landmark.

< There is nothing more fun than lighting the iconic “Kermit The Frog” statue over the Jim Henson Studios building in Los Angeles. With difficult lighting positions to light “Kermit” evenly and softly, we decided to light him more “theatrically,” as if he were on a stage. So our awful lighting positions that would create harsh shadows; actually played a great roll in accommodating this atmosphere. We added a spotlight with a custom pattern focused onto the roof to create a “faux” shadow of Kermit to reinforce the look.

< Working with production designer Bruce Ryan and Lily Tomlin, we created all the screens content and lighting designer for her one-woman act at the Hollywood Theatre at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
With a large 50′ wide x 30′ tall rear-projection screen, we had a very large canvas to work with. Considering we were the lighting and screens designers, we were able to tie them seamlessly together. This “backstage” look with the swagged drapes behind Lily in this photograph is one of these seamless projections with a very complimentary lighting plan.

< Calvary Lutheran Church is in a very special and unique environment with a varied and progressive community to serve. It is located on the borders of Del Mar, the City of San Diego and the City of Solana Beach. This location also serves the Carmel Valley and Fairbanks Ranch growth centers, Rancho Santa Fe with its quiet lifestyle, and the beach communities to the north and south. Strong worship traditions have been established at Calvary and these traditions will be preserved and continued in the future. These traditions define what Calvary really is – a friendly, family-oriented, music-oriented congregation of believers.
